Tips & Tricks
Zooming in and out in conversations in MSN 6 & 7
In MSN Messenger 6 and 7 you can zoom in and out of chat text in conversations (The text you write, the conversation text and also the Status text which appears in a yellow box below your contacts name and email address). To do this, follow these simple steps: * Place your mouse over any of the above mentioned areas to zoom in and out, then hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard. * Now move your mouse scroller forward and backwards to zoom in and out! Be sure to remember what the original size was in order to reset it if needed!

New Yahoo! IDs work on Messenger too
As you may have heard, Yahoo! Mail is offering new domains for email addresses: ymail.com and rocketmail.com. That means a whole new crop of email addresses that may not have been available as a yahoo.com address are now up for grabs. These new Yahoo! Mail addresses also act as Yahoo! IDs that let you sign in to other services on the Yahoo! network, including Yahoo! Messenger. When you sign into Messenger, just be sure to type in the entire email address (e.g. dairyman77@ymail.com, joeuser@rocketmail.com) into the Yahoo! ID box, followed by your password. So if you’ve been thinking about getting a new email address and/or Yahoo! ID, head over to Yahoo! Mail and sign up. During registration, click on the drop down menu to select the domain you want to use (yahoo.com, ymail.com, rocketmail.com).
Drag and drop in Skype Chat
Drag-and-drop works well in Skype chat. You can drag and drop people between your contact list and chats, or between chats. Want to add someone from your contact list to a chat? Just drag him/her from the contact list to an existing chat. Want to move people between chats? Drag them over to the other chat. The user objects in the chat participants list are large and easy to grab. If you have an ongoing team chat and want to distribute a file to several people at the same time, there's no need to do separate File Transfers to everyone -- just drag and drop a file onto the chat window and it's sent to everyone in the chat (they have to accept it, of course).

| Typographical smileys
Many typographical representations of smiley faces have been developed over the years. Some feature non-smiling expressions or other elaborations. They come in two main varieties, those meant to be viewed sideways, and those meant to be seen upright.
